Indisys has stirred the world of home automation systems by developing a spoken natural-language interface for the in-home domain. Indisys's virtual butlers allow users to control electronic devices at home or in the office. The user may address the assistant by an appellative and naturally speak to the butler. The use of spoken language interfaces don't require other complex interfaces and permits centralized control of house devices from anywhere in the house.

 

Virtual butlers are provided with a 3D dynamic interface, which is automatically generated by an ontology and updated in real time. Users may utilize different modality combinations to control house devices.

 

Home automation systems are still in their initial phase of development. The spoken natural-language interface will be a major boost to home automation technologies.
